Webinar Möbius & Heliovision
March 24th
"AI helps growers accurately predict when their products will be ready for the market"
Tholen – About a year ago, Coöperatie Hoogstraten approached the Flemish consultancy firm Möbius with the question of whether it would be possible to better estimate strawberry production. This led to a collaboration in which Möbius developed an AI model: Curv, a machine‑learning platform that supports growers in their planning and market positioning. They are now bringing this to the market to help even more grower organizations, and on March 24 they will host a webinar in collaboration with Heliovision.

“Simply put, the AI model can accurately predict when certain volumes of products, such as strawberries, will be available,” explains Wannes Dewulf of Möbius. “This is important because strawberry production varies significantly and the product has a short shelf life. AI can support growers’ gut feeling by incorporating external factors such as weather, solar radiation, and cultivation methods, allowing it to forecast future yields.”
The system uses machine learning and genetic algorithms to continuously learn and improve itself. “The model works with more than 500 variables and can generate predictions up to seven weeks in advance, updated daily. The result is an accuracy of up to 90%, enabling companies to plan more effectively: promotions, inventory management, and pricing strategies become more efficient.”
Webinar with Heliovision
The project began in collaboration with Coöperatie Hoogstraten, but due to its success, they are now exploring opportunities to support other growers and companies as well. “The free webinar we are organizing will last one hour and will dive deep into the insights we extract from data, predictive models, machine learning, and computer vision. We want to demonstrate how these technologies help optimize production and planning. The webinar starts from several practical cases to show what we can offer different growers.”
“Of course, it requires an investment and the project must be presented at a sufficiently high level, which is why we mainly focus on larger growers and cooperatives, including Dutch players. However, the webinar will be held in English, making it interesting internationally as well, though our primary focus remains the Benelux.”
